The cover features images of the Big Four Bridge spanning the Ohio River from Downtown Louisville, KY to Jeffersonville, IN. It was named after the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago, and St. Louis (CCC&StL) railway merger that owned and operated it. The bridge was originally built in 1895 and used as a railroad bridge until the 1960s. After it was decommissioned and the ramps were removed on both sides it became known as the "Bridge to Nowhere." It reopened in 2013 as a pedestrian bridge and is now a central feature of Louisville's Waterfront Park. The 2-mile roundtrip walk across the bridge attracts more than 1.5 million visits each year. This bridge is an example of our struggle, innovation, and community. A reminder that our striving may someday be the foundation for thriving beyond what we can imagine through collaborative time, effort, and creativity.
