Relationship distress continues to be one of the most common presenting problems, and couple therapy can be an effective modality, esp. when grounded in evidence-based theories and methods. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to three most evidence-based models (Gottman, IBCT, and EFT), including a brief description of key assessment and intervention procedures. We will also focus on resources for additional training, consultation, and supervision. Skill level: Intermediate

- Identify and describe three evidence-based models of couple therapy.
- Identify and describe two evidence-based assessment procedures and two interventions for couple therapy.
- Identify key resources for ongoing training in couple therapy.
About the Presenter Scott Salathe, PsyD, has been a licensed psychologist practicing in KY for the past 20 years, who specializes in couple therapy. He is fully certified in Emotionally focused couple therapy (EFCT) and teaches the graduate course Couple Therapy at Spalding University. He is committed to integrating evidence-based models with a strong commitment to maintaining cultural humility with all couples.

CE Credits/Attendance
It is important to note that APA continuing education rules require that KPA only give credit to those who attend the entire workshop. An evaluation of the workshop must be completed. Those who login more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time or leave before the workshop is completed will not receive CE credit. Partial credit may not be given.
This program is approved for 1.5 CE hours by the Kentucky Psychological Association.
