2017 KPA Legislative Day at the State Capitol

Let your voice be heard!  KPA members are invited
to gather in Frankfort to raise awareness among our legislators about important issues affecting mental health and the profession and practice of psychology.

 Event Highlights: You will have the opportunity to:

• Participate in individual or group meetings with your legislators
• Meet legislators who have worked closely with KPA
• Watch committee meetings and stay afterward to watch the legislative session
• Learn more about how the legislative process works and how you can be an effective advocate
• Help increase awareness among policy-makers about KPA, the science and practice of psychology, and issues that affect psychologists and the Kentuckians we serve

Capitol Annex – Frankfort, KY
8:30 am – 3:00 pm (Time is flexible)


Schedule for Legislative Day:

• 8:30am – 9am: Meet in Capitol Annex Room 111 for Orientation, Schedule Pick-up, Tips on Legislative talking points

• 9am to 11am: Meet and Greet breakfast with Legislators

• 9am to 1:30pm: Individual or group meetings with your legislator, as available.  You will be accompanied by one of our lobbyists if desired.  KPA members may also attend Committee Meetings

• 11am to 2pm: Legislators will come talk to the KPA group informally; Lunch on your own in the cafeteria

• 2pm-3pm: Opportunity to watch the Legislative Session in action
