is webinar will start with a review of the justifications cited by perpetra
tors of mass attacks, as well as a consideration of underlying psychologica
l dynamics. Next, three psychological types of mass attackers will be prese
nted to demonstrate the intersection of their internal dynamics and life ex
periences. Following this, four additional cases will be reviewed to highli
ght the variability in functioning among perpetrators and the need to look

About the Presenter:
Peter Langman, Ph.D., is a sought-after expert on the psychology of school shooters a nd other perpetrators of mass violence. He conducts training o n understanding the psychology of school shooters and identifying potential school shooters for professionals in mental health, education, and law enf orcement. He has spoken on preventing school shootings at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA, and has been hired by Homeland Security to train p rofessionals in school safety. He is also a researcher with the National Th reat Assessment Center of the United States Secret Service. In 2018 he was invited by the Department of Homeland Security to participate in the Nation al School Security Roundtable. Though his primary focus is school shooters, he has spoken at FBI Headquarters on white supremacist homegrown violent e xtremists and at the National Counterterrorism Center on American jihadis.< /span>
