2017 KPA Convention Wrap Up

Many thanks to all who participated in making KPA's 2017 Annual Convention, A Balancing Act: Innovation and Keeping the Heart of Psychology, such a tremendous success. There were many outstanding speakers and workshops, and lots of great networking opportunities as we came together for our yearly "family reunion." A special thank you to Convention Chair Dr. Marianne McClure, the entire 2017 Convention Committee, and all of our wonderful volunteer presenters!

We'll be back in Lexington in 2018 for what promises to be yet another wonderful gathering. Save the dates: November 1-3, at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort. In the meantime, the KPA Central Office is pleased to share this brief KPA 2017 Annual Convention overview with you.

Convention Surveys

Thanks to all who took the time to complete a Convention Survey. We take your comments seriously, and find them very helpful for future planning. Survey responses will be forwarded to the 2017 Convention Committee. Survey responses were largely very positive this year. Resoundingly, respondents expressed appreciation for the input and perspective of national Featured Speakers. Workshop evaluations for this year's KPF-sponsored Diversity speaker, Dr. Sandra L. Shullman, Ph.D. were also very positive, and the Foundation plans to continue to provide support to bring in a national speaker to address topics of diversity and multiculturalism. As has been typical, responses were split nearly 50/50 regarding a preference for a suburban or downtown location. Knowing that we cannot accommodate every member's preference every year, we plan to continue alternating the Annual Convention between Lexington and Louisville, and to mix up the venues between downtown and suburban. We hope that you will continue to attend the Convention, even on the years that don't match your first choice! We look forward to seeing you again next November. In the meantime, take note of a full calendar of CE events throughout 2018.

Congratulations to Dr. Marlena Woodmansee whose name was drawn from the completed Convention Surveys for a $50 off of KPA Membership!
